Apex Property Management (Apex) is a semi-large slumlord company in Madison, WI.  We have received multiple complaints about Apex, especially about serious mold issues in their units. 

• Bat and mice problems; especially in their older units
• During winter, a porch door settled so much it left a large gap at the top, allowing cold air to come into the apartment.  Apex’s response was to “fix” it by putting plastic over the door. 
• Tenants pay for heat – bill was enormous due to heating issues in buildings
• Poor general communication, poor leasing communication
• Hostile when confronted about issues
• Leaves behind broken glass and plastic on tenant balconies after re-modeling
• Apex Maintenance worker made sexual jokes to tenant- made tenant uncomfortable to the point they notified Apex (Apex did nothing about this)
• Persistent mold issues that spread across units in the same building due to same HVAC
• Apex told tenants that the mold issues in their units were “none of their business”
• Tenant became very sick from mold: coughing, wheezing, headaches, GI issues, etc. 
• Issues with mold and structural issues were escalated to City of Madison building inspection- Apex got off without an inspection or fines and demolished the building
