Hanover Square Apartments is an apartment complex in Madison, WI.  It is owned by corporate Greystone Properties, whose office is in Indianapolis, IN. 

In January 2023, Hanover Square Apartments was discovered to have improperly disposed of confidential tenant material in an unlocked recycling bin- items including copies of Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, criminal records, affordable housing information, banking information, and physical checks. 

• Improper disposal of huge amounts of sensitive tenant information, discovered by tenants in an unlocked recycling bin (copies of driver’s licenses, criminal records, banking information, etc.)
• Communication with management is poor or almost non-existent (probably because their corporate office is in Indianapolis). 
• Hanover tries to keep their tenant’s security deposits by claiming tenant’s didn’t clean well enough.
• Tries to nickel and dime tenants at move out, despite being impossible to get in contact with for duration of the lease. 

• “Someone out there has my Social Security information or my birth certificate” – Tenant describing finding out Hanover improperly disposed of sensitive tenant information.
